This time of year can be a little bit slower in the cake category, so I had some time to try my hand at a gingerbread house. I have never made a gingerbread house before, so I was way excited to give it a try. I wanted it to be bright and cheery looking scene, so I covered the pieces of gingerbread in a color flow technique and added the colorful fondant accents.

I had so much fun doing this that I decided to enter it into the South Jordan City gingerbread house contest and I am pleased to say that I took 2nd place! If you want to see it in person you can see it at the South Jordan City Light the Night on December 3rd at the Gale Center. Follow the link for details,  http://www.southjordancity.org/recreation/pdf/lightthenight.pdf

Also, I did an interview with the South Valley Journal about it. It will be in the December issue that comes out December 2nd. Check it out.

I had so much fun that I may just try it again some time.
